Student Organizations

Alpha Primary

Blue Bag Brigade
This Keep America Beautiful (KAB) club is responsible for recycling at AP.  It is their duty to collect recyclables from the hallway containers and place them in the proper receptacles for collection.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes
Fellowship of Christian Athletes meets once a month and has a brief devotional.  This organization is open to all students.

Library Cadets
Library Cadets help with shelving books and with library book checkout.  They are second grade students.

Safety Patrol
Safety Patrol members gather morning reports, aid the cafeteria staff, greet visitors, act as messengers, and help with morning supervision.  Safety Patrol consists of 10 second grade students who are chosen for their responsibility, role model capacity, courtesy, and dependability.

Student Council
The Student Council is a group of students who have been elected by their peers to respect the student body.  These students represent their classes at monthly meetings to discuss ways to improve our school.  Student Council members represent Alpha at community functions and act as guides for our school visitors. They also participate in several community projects.

Boys' and Girls' Basketball
These teams participate in interschool competition which stresses sportsmanship, fundamentals of basketball, and fair play.

This group of AI students is part of the sports' program which stresses sportsmanship and competitive cheering.

Drama Club
The Drama club consists of third, fourth, and fifth grade students. This year we will focus on the art of storytelling and smaller plays.

Geography Bee
The Geography Bee is a nationwide contest sponsored by the National Geographic Society. At the local level, the contest is conducted much like the game show Jeopardy with the winner taking a test to qualify for the state competition.

Junior Beta Club
The AI Junior Beta Club provides an opportunity for individual and cooperative effort by AI's most outstanding students. The club develops initiative and leadership, rewards merit and achievement, and is an asset to the school and community through service projects.

Library Cadets
Library Cadets practice information skills, develop responsibility and good citizenship habits, and provide services to their school community through various library-related tasks.

Mathfax Team
Students who excell in the area of mathematics use their skill and knowledge on a more advanced level. Competitors include fifth grade students across the nation.

Safety Patrol
The AI Safety Patrol members serve in many capacities. Duties include hall patrol, lunchroom duty, greeting
and guiding visitors, messengers, and morning/afternoon supervision. Students serving on patrol are chosen by teachers due to their responsibility, role model capacity, courtesy and dependability.

Scholar Bowl Team
The Scholastic Bowl is made up of fifth grade students selected for their outstanding academic achievements. They compete with other fifth grade teams in Hamblen County in a bowl held in the spring.

Technauts provide computer-related services to students and teachers while developing computer skills, responsibility, and pride in service to the school community.
