I am a life long learner! I graduated with an Associate Degree from Walter's State and a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education from Carson Newman. In 1998 I earned my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from UT. After many great leadership opportunities, I went back to school and earned my Educational Specialist degree from LMU in School Leadership in 2010. My final degree is one I am currently pursuing: A Doctoral Degree of Education in Administration. I hope to finish it in spring of 2018.

I encourage all of our students to never stop learning!

My career began in 1996 when I began teaching 3rd grade at John Hay Elementary. I taught 3rd  grade for 7 years before moving to Kindergarten. That is a fun grade to teach too! After 8 years in Kindergarten I looped with a group and taught 1st grade for a couple of years. I finished my teaching career in 4th grade where I taught ELA and Social Studies for four years.

Over my teaching career, I became interested in administration after participating in many leadership roles. I served as Dr. Dyke's principal designee when she was at John Hay for four years, and I continued in this role for the next two principals. I was excited, in 2017, to become the Assistant Principal at Alpha.

I love teaching! Even more I love working with all of the students and staff to enHANCE our school culture!

I have lived in Morristown all of my life, and am a product of the Hamblen County School System. I am married with two high-school boys, Mason and Meric. We have several pets who tend to rule the house and we enjoy being outside, hiking with the dogs.
