Students in Mrs. Shondra Cody's third grade class at Alpha recently completed a thematic unit on the human body. They studied six of the major body systems including the Circulatory System, the Digestive System, the Respiratory System, the Skeletal System, the Muscular System, and the Nervous System.
Each day as the students learned about the different systems, they would color and cut out the body parts that went with that system and hang those parts on their life-size bodies in the hallway. They even got to have a taste and smell test when studying the five senses.
Students loved this hands-on unit, and they learned a great deal about what goes on inside their bodies.
